Contemporary Burundian art is beautiful yet it is less known regionally or internationally due to inadequate maintenance facilities for conserving works of art and exhibition halls which becomes a huge stumbling block to its development in Burundi.

Sometimes Burundi is invited to participate in regional and international affairs and it is always very difficult to identify urban artists and few works are exhibited without being accompanied by their authors. Our talented artists normally flock to other nations where they feel they can make a living.

For this, Fort Barachel has today promoted mobility meetings and organizes each year events and concerts that can bring together artists such as drummers, Intore dancers, women’s dances, agasimbo, etc. to identify the talents of the population and develop their full artistic potential.
